Interior appointments

The game has changed when it comes to comfort and refinement. Interior design features full leather trim, enhanced by woodgrain accents on the doors, steering wheel, dash and console. Leather on the steering wheel and gear lever improves grip and comfort. Switches on the steering wheel let you adjust the climate control, audio levels and even operate your Bluetooth® compatible mobile phone^, all without taking your hands off the wheel. Not only are both the driver's and front passenger's seats power adjustable, 2 memory functions on the driver's seat let you select your preferred seat and mirror settings at the touch of a button.

Information technology

An Optitron Combi-Meter ensures greater instrument clarity whatever the ambient light, and also keeps you updated on key trip details including average fuel economy, estimated cruising range and more.

DVD-based Satellite navigation guides you to your destination via your preference of visual map display options or spoken instructions^^. In-built Bluetooth® mobile phone technology gives you hands-free mobile communication via the touch screen and steering wheel switches, you can even place a call by spoken commands.

Audio entertainment

Presara's 6-speaker audio system includes an MP3/WMA-CD compatible 4-disc in-dash 4-CD changer. Psychoacoustics technology lifts the bass response and makes the sound appear to be coming from just behind the windscreen. A Digital Signal Processor optimises sound clarity, boosts playback and minimises distortion, while an Automatic Sound Leveller tailors volume and frequency to compensate for road and wind noises should you have your window down.

Clean, flowing body lines

The sculpted body design reflects a bold, confident attitude. Chrome on the front grille, side mouldings and door handles help set Presara apart and complements the elegant design themes. The technology of Smart Entry and Push Button Start allows you to unlock the doors or boot with Smart Key in your possession, simply by placing your hand on the door handle or a switch on the boot. Once inside, you can simply start the engine at the touch of a button.

Headlamps that turn corners

Powerful High Intensity Discharge headlamps are not only brighter, but more intelligent as well. They self level to help maintain a good spread of light on the road ahead and washers automatically clean the lenses. On bends, the Adaptive Front lighting System (AFS) swivels the headlamps (low beam only) in response to steering input and vehicle speed, helping you see around corners. Fog lamps aid vision in misty conditions, while in the rear LED tail and brake lamps light up faster and brighter, so others can see you. The LED tail and brake lamps are also much more durable than normal bulbs and consume less energy.

Smarter exterior features

All around the body are innovations that enhance your driving experience. They include features like side mirrors which dip whenever you select reverse, allowing you to see the kerb. They also incorporate turn signal lights for safer turning and improved visibility. In the wet, rain sensing wipers automatically activate and tailor the wiper speed according to your speed and the rain intensity for clearer vision.

6 SRS airbags and ELR seatbelts

Dual stage SRS front airbags, which measure the intensity of the collision and deploy accordingly, are fitted for both front seat occupants. Seat-mounted side airbags help reduce the likelihood of injury to front seat occupants during side collisions. Side curtain shield airbags help reduce the chance of injury to the head of front and rear seat outer occupants in a side impact. For added restraint, 3-point Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR) seatbelts have pretensioners which retract the seatbelt at moment of impact, and force limiters which help reduce the risk of chest injury.

Driver Assist Technology

Presara is equipped with a package of intelligent Driver Assist Technology (DAT) which enhances safety even in challenging conditions. If the car experiences front or rear wheel skidding when cornering, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) assists in bringing it back on course. When accelerating on marginal traction surfaces like wet or gravel roads, Traction Control (TRC) minimises drive wheel slippage ensuring that the car accelerates in the intended direction.

Intelligent AB-i braking system

Active Braking with intelligence (AB-i) integrates Presara's for improved stopping. AB-i comprises an Anti-skid Braking System (ABS) which minimises skidding when braking by controlling each brake calliper independently, enabling you to maintain steering control and steer around an obstacle under heaving braking. In emergencies, Brake Assist (BA) supplements your braking effort for shorter stopping distances. Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) sends the right amount of braking effort to each wheel based on road conditions and load, for more controlled stopping.

Toyota Link

Wherever you travel you've the reassurance of Toyota Link# communication technology handily positioned in an overhead console. It lets you contact the Toyota Link call centre for roadside assistance or emergency support. If an airbag is deployed, Toyota Link can send for help when you can't. These are just some of the support services right at your fingertips.

Whiplash-lessening front seat design

To alleviate the impact to the neck area in the event of a rear end collision, Presara's advanced front seat is designed to suppress the relative movement between the head and body.

Reversing and Parking Assistance

Even reversing and parking are easier in the Presara. Select reverse and the exterior mirrors dip automatically allowing you to see the kerb. At the same time, a rear reversing camera displays a colour picture of what's immediately behind your rear bumper on the Satellite Navigation screen**. Leaving nothing to chance, sonar sensors in the front and rear bumpers sound alarms as you approach objects making it easier to manoeuvre into and out of tight parking spaces.

A collapsible steering column reduces the likelihood of injury to the driver in a frontal collision.
Increased use of high strength steel provides greater structural rigidity.
Cross section roof reinforcements help resist side collision load impact
For pedestrian safety, the underbonnet supporting structure and impact absorbing fender brackets help minimize collision impact.

6-speed sequential shift automatic

The 6-speed sequential shift automatic transmission delivers seamless acceleration and is equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) shift control which tailors shift points to suit your needs and road conditions. Uphill/downhill shift control selects the right gear when climbing hills to prevent unnecessary up-shifting, while on descents it shifts down to optimise engine braking. Alternatively, sequential shifting gives you control over your gear changes.

A more refined ride

Engineers have tailored Presara's ride for Australian conditions, with McPherson struts up front to help tame our often unrefined roads. Multi-leaf linear control valves in the shock absorbers improve damping performance, for improved comfort.
